Research support

If you are interested in submitting a proposal, received an award notice or agreement for an already submitted proposal, or need to transfer an award the Pre-Award Team provides the following services:

• Proposal Development Support - assisting with drafting budgets, budget justifications, and other sponsor-required documents.
• Compliance Review - checking for adherence to institutional policies, sponsor guidelines, and federal regulations (e.g., human subjects, conflict of interest, export control).
• Administrative Review & Approval - routing proposals internally for departmental and institutional approvals.
• Submission Management - entering proposals into sponsor systems (like Grants.gov, NIH ASSIST, NSF Fast Lane/Research.gov) and ensuring timely submission.
• Communication with Sponsors - clarifying application requirements and resolving administrative questions before submission.

**Please submit the Wrike intake form at least two weeks in advance to ensure your proposal is competitive, compliant, and submitted on time. Questions can be left blank if you are unsure of the answer or if it doesn't apply to your proposal.

After a proposal is awarded our Post-Award team provides the following services:

• Monthly account reconciliations to ensure accurate accounting and monitor budget
• Budget projections using the KE Account Forecasting Tool

• Change requests- No Cost Extensions, 

  Rebudgets, 

  At-risk accounts, 

  Cost transfers, etc.

• Process transactions- Purchases, Reimbursements, Travel, Consultant pay, etc. (Please see Wrike request forms below) 

   

• Coordinate hiring requests with CISA HR team
