Nominate a stellar CISA student

The College of Integrative Sciences and Arts awards some of our best students with the Outstanding Undergraduate Award, Outstanding Graduate Award or Dean’s Medalist Award. Information on student eligibility and the nomination processes can be found below.

Nominate an Outstanding Undergraduate student

A university-wide recognition, CISA's Outstanding Undergraduate Award is given to one undergraduate student during the spring semester. Awardees will be honored at ASU's Spring and Commencement ceremonies and CISA's Spring Convocation ceremonies.

Undergraduate student eligibility (spring semester only)

  • The nominee must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better.
  • The graduating student must be completing a Bachelor’s degree in May or July. Students who completed coursework in a previous semester are not eligible. 
  • The student nominated for this recognition must be available to take part in the production of a short video to be created by the ASU Enterprise Brand Strategy and Management team. A representative from the Enterprise Brand Strategy and Management team will be in touch with the student about the production timeline.
  • The nominee is required to attend the ASU Undergraduate Commencement held in the spring semester of their graduation.
  • The nominee is required to attend the CISA Convocation Ceremony held in the spring semester of their graduation.

Nominate an Outstanding Graduate student

A university-wide recognition, CISA's Outstanding Graduate Award is given to one master's or doctoral student. During the fall semester, one Outstanding Graduate Award is given to a master's or doctoral student only. Awardees will be honored at ASU's Spring and Fall Commencement ceremonies and CISA's Spring and Fall Convocation ceremonies.

Graduate student eligibility

  • The nominee must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better.
  • The nominee must be completing a master’s, Juris Doctor or doctoral degree in May of 2026. Students who completed coursework in a previous semester are not eligible.
  • The nominee must be available to take part in the production of a short video created by the ASU Enterprise Brand Strategy and Management Team. A representative from the Enterprise Brand Strategy and Management Team will be in touch with the student about the production timeline.
  • The nominee is required to attend the ASU Graduate Commencement on Monday, May 11, at 7:30p.m. at Desert Financial Arena. If the nominated student cannot attend the ASU Graduate Commencement, an alternate student will be recognized.
  • The student nominated for recognition will also be required to attend the CISA Convocation Ceremony on Friday, May 15, at 9a.m. at Desert Financial Arena.

Nominate a Dean’s Medalist

An exclusive CISA award, the Dean’s Medal is awarded to four undergraduate students; one student is selected per school and in the Office for Veteran and Military Academic Engagement. Each awardee will receive a medallion to be worn with their regalia at CISA’s Convocation ceremony. Dean’s Medalists will also carry their school’s gonfalon during the convocation processional.

Criteria

  • One awardee per school and OVMAE per semester
    • OVMAE student nominee must be military-affiliated (Active duty, National Guard, Reservist, Veteran, or Dependent of any of these)
  • Undergraduate student graduating spring 2026 (all degree requirements must be completed)
  • Declared major in CISA
  • Minimum 3.50 cumulative GPA
  • Students who display exemplary academic achievement and a record of leadership and service.
  • Must attend the CISA Spring 2026 Convocation Ceremony on Friday, May 15, at 9 a.m, at 7:30 p.m. at Desert Financial Arena.
  • Please note: No student self-nominations
